PhD candidate Debangshu Paul has leveraged computational mechanics tools to create a finite-element framework for predicting fractures in goat tibia. Debangshu converted 3-D QCT scans into high-fidelity meshes, calibrated material properties from density data, and validated the simulations against digital-image-correlation measurements on real bones. The workflow, now published in Biomedical Engineering Advances, gives clinicians and engineers a freely accessible platform to test implants and study bone healing across species.
