Arif Masud receives GI Taylor Medal at 2019 SES Conference

Tim Truster’s doctoral advisor Arif Masud was honored with the GI Taylor Medal at the 2019 Society of Engineering Science Conference at Washington University, St. Louis, “For fundamental contributions to the theory of stabilized and variational multiscale methods in computational fluid dynamics and their widespread adoption and utilization in industry and at national laboratories.”

The plenary abstract is posted here: https://ses2019.wustl.edu/track-symposia/2019-ses-medalists/taylor-medalist/. Truster presented about the history of the Variational Multiscale Discontinuous Galerkin method during the honorary symposium on stabilized finite element methods alongside Masud’s colleagues.
